Web Hosting

Web hosting is basically space on a server that is permanently connected to the internet via a leased line. The option that suits most people is space on a shared server, several different companies can share a server without interferring with each other, they are that powerful!

Our shared servers come with everything you will ever need, basics like masses of disc space, to more advanced features like the highly versatile scripting language PHP and the very popular database MySQL.

As your needs grow you may opt for colocation, which is simply hosting your own server in one of our high-tech air-conditioned data centres. This is more expensive, and so only suitable for well established websites, but gives you greater flexibilty and control over the way your site functions, and the technologies you use.

Once you have your hosting, whether shared, or colocated, you need to introduce your website to your web hosting. For this you need FTP (File Transfer Protocol) client software. These packages enable you to connect to a web server and upload the files of your website from yuor computer to our server. Then your website will be live on the internet!
