Why do I need a domain name?

You need a domain name if you want your company to have a presence on the internet

That's the short answer!

Basically domains the core of both your web address and your email address(es). Without them it can be near impossible for customers to find you on the internet, as explained in our article What are domain names? without a decent domain customers will have to remember a tricky ip address and won't be able to email you! Which is this day and age is unthinkable! (Although we may be a little biased!)

So a decent domain name enables internet users to locate your website, and lets them email you, but why would you want a website and email?

Why would I want a website?

A well executed website is like having an extra employee, one that works 24 hours a day and never gets tired! Potential customers can go to your website for product information, technical help, to look up your contact details or leave you messages. Giving your customers the power to help themselves and at their convenience is a massive benefit, plus email allows them to send you questions or suggestions at any time of the day or night, which you can collect at a time to suit you.
